Hotel Rateable Valuation 2024/25

The new Valuation List and Government Rent Roll are declared by the Commissioner of Rating and Valuation in the month of March and made available for public inspection thereafter up to 31 May of the year in which the List and the Rent Rill come into force. Any person who is aggrieved by an entry in the Valuation List

Meeting with Deputy Financial Secretary on Hotel Accommodation Tax and Mega Event Economy Initiatives

On 15 April 2024, we had the privilege of meeting with the Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Michael Wong; Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung; Commissioner for Tourism, Ms Vivian Sum, the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Mr Dane Cheng and his team.   Our Federation was led by our Vice Chairman, Ms Belinda Yeung and Management Committee Member Ms Paddy Lui.  The Hon Perry Yiu played a crucial role convening this important dialogue between the tourism trades and the government.

Briefing Sessions on Hotel Accommodation Tax by Inland Revenue Department

In his 2024-25 Budget Speech, the Financial Secretary proposed to re-impose the Hotel Accommodation Tax (HAT).  Under the proposal, the rate of HAT will be adjusted from the current rate of 0% to the rate of 3% with effect from 1 January 2025.

Meeting with Government to Reflect Concerns on Hotel Accommodation Tax

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an update regarding follow-up action to reflect trade's concerns over the imposition of the Hotel Accommodation Tax (HAT). The 2024-25 Budget & Re-imposition of the Hotel Accommodation Tax at 3%

The Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners (The Federation) is pleased to report to our members the 2024-25 Budget announced by the Financial Secretary Mr Paul Chan today.  This budget signifies a significant step towards the continued growth and prosperity of the Hong Kong economy.   We are happy to report that some of our recommendations have been reflected in this year's budget announcement and some highlights related to the hotel and hospitalitiy industry.

Hotel Rateable Valuation 2023/24

The new Valuation List and Government Rent Roll are declared by the Commissioner of Rating and Valuation in the month of March and made available for public inspection thereafter up to 31 May of the year in which the List and the Rent Rill come into force. Any person who is aggrieved by an entry in the Valuation List or Government Rent Roll may object to the new rateable value by submitting a “Proposal” in the specified Form R20A (Proposal for Alternation of Valuation List or Government Rent Roll) to alter the entry in the Valuation List or Government Rent Roll on or before 31 May of the year.
