We are pleased to inform members that the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched “Hong Kong Good Take”, a movie tourism initiative showcasing Hong Kong’s cinematic heritage, distinctive cityscape and diverse neighbourhoods.

The initiative features 50 selected films and 100 filming locations across Hong Kong, covering international productions, Hong Kong cinema classics, and popular films and television dramas from the Chinese Mainland and Southeast Asia. It invites visitors to follow familiar scenes beyond the screen and explore Hong Kong’s culture, history and neighbourhoods through film.

The initiative also introduces neighbourhood itineraries covering Old Town Central, Sham Shui Po and Yau Ma Tei, together with five themed movie itineraries focusing on Love, Action, Drama, Hollywood Movies, and Asian Movies and Dramas. Spotlight features, immersive movie experiences and related attractions provide further opportunities for visitors to discover Hong Kong’s appeal as the “Hollywood of the East”. 

Hotel properties featured as filming locations include:

• The Peninsula Hong Kong – featured in Everlasting Love (1984), in which the leading characters meet outside the hotel, and The Dark Knight (2008), which features the hotel’s rooftop helipad and Hong Kong skyline.

• Harbour Grand Kowloon – its rooftop swimming pool appears in a memorable escape sequence in the Korean film The Thieves (2012). 

Members are encouraged to share the initiative and Movie Guide with their concierge, guest relations, front office, sales and marketing teams. Hotels may also consider incorporating relevant filming locations and neighbourhood itineraries into guest recommendations, promotional content, themed experiences or accommodation packages, where appropriate.
