The Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong will return in 2026. First launched in 2016, the Festival celebrated its 10th edition last year and will be held for the 11th time this year. The Festival brings together a wide range of Japan-related events organised by Japanese and Hong Kong entities, primarily during the period from the Autumn Equinox to the Winter Solstice.
This year’s programme will cover various categories, including culture and arts, sports, seminars and education, food and beverage, and promotional campaigns, providing the Hong Kong public with further opportunities to discover and enjoy the appeal of Japan.
According to the official website, 28 activities are currently listed. Examples include exhibitions, workshops, seminars, food and beverage experiences, and Japanese language-related events scheduled from September to December 2026.

Application for Approved Events
Organisers may apply for their activities to be recognised as approved events under the Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong 2026.
Approved events may enjoy the following arrangements:
- use of the official logo of the Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong;
- listing and promotion of event information on the official website;
- possible promotion through the Consulate-General’s social media channels;
- possible attendance or remarks by representatives of the Executive Committee, subject to availability; and
- other indirect support from the Consulate-General where appropriate.
Eligible activities include those relating to culture and arts, sports, seminars and education, food and beverage, and promotional campaigns, provided that they align with the Festival’s purpose of expressing appreciation to Hong Kong for its support of Japanese culture, goods and services, and of providing opportunities to learn more about and enjoy Japan.
In principle, eligible events should take place in whole or in part during the period from 23 September 2026 to 22 December 2026. Paid or profit-making events, such as ticketed events or sales exhibitions, are also welcome.
Please note that events of a political or religious nature, adult-content events, events contrary to public order or morals, events that may infringe third-party rights, or events that may breach Hong Kong and/or Japanese laws will not be accepted.
Application Deadlines
The first application deadline was 28 August 2026. The final application deadline is 13 November 2026
Applications submitted after the final deadline may still be considered on an individual basis. Interested organisers should contact the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong directly.
